Role
In this project TTTech Auto leads work package 4 (Data Acquisition and Processing Platform). TTTech Auto is responsible for providing the suitable data communication network architecture, the in-vehicle computing platform, including computing hardware, and communication software for highly automated vehicles. Enhancing the reliability of environmental awareness resulting from fused data from the vehicle’s sensors, the novel iLIDS4SAM LIDAR component will be integrated into the control system for the safety & security related automated driving functionality, reaching out for SAE levels 4 and 5.
Key contribution
As a key project contribution and R&D result, TTTech Auto will develop a platform data communication network, providing all the required means to enable highly automated driving for vehicles ranging from SAE levels 3 to 5. The development will comprise of the R&D work for the design of an architecture and novel central driving computing platform (CCP), comprising of all the required computing hardware and software modules. The CCP will collect the data from the dedicated connected sensors (including the novel iLIDS4SAM LIDAR) for the provision data fusion capability to create environmental awareness for the vehicle and to control the connected actuators for highly automated driving functionality accordingly.
The development will be implemented by setting up suitable laboratory grade demonstrators for the different application domains within the project.
